Chronic Lateral Epicondylitis
Lateral epicondylitis, or tennis elbow, is a common condition that causes
pain on the outside of the elbow. Although the name suggests that it caused
by playing tennis, it is actually caused by over using the elbow from
multiple types of repetitive or strenuous activities.
Inflammation generally will begin with an injury or strain to the area. This
pain is aggravated with continued use, and very sensitive when pressure is
applied. Most patients will respond to conservative treatment; stretching
exercises, rest, anti-inflammatory medication, or tennis strap.
The OssaTron® procedure has been highly successful, providing relief for
those who have chronic lateral epicondylitis. The FDA approved OssaTron®
Orthotripsy® procedure is for those individuals with chronic lateral
epicondylits who do not respond to conservative care regimes and have had
pain for 6 months.
Statistics and the multitude of satisfied patients confirm the OssaTron® to
be a safe and effective treatment for chronic lateral epicondylitis. Studies
show that 90% of patients who received the OssaTron Orthotripsy procedure
received benefit from the treatment. Even at 12 month follow up visits, 87%
of those who were successful at 12 weeks retained their success criteria. |
